Hey everyone, I know it’s been a while since my last post but I have been very busy working on various projects. Recently, I finished up a collaborating artwork with DJ Max Tannone who gained a notable buzz from his prior release a mashup of Jay-Z and Radiohead titled “Jadiohead”, on his new release “Ghostfunk”.

“Ghostfunk” pairs one of Hip-Hop’s most prominent artists, Wu-Tang member Ghostface Killah, with vintage African funk, high-life, and psychedelic rock music. The music is excellent and I am very proud to be apart of this project.

Below is the full artwork for the album along with the tracks for your listening pleasure and a few links where it can be found for free download!

ENJOY!

Back on http://joedichiara.wordpress.com to post the third piece of artwork in my “GO NBA” series. Today’s illustration is for point guard Deron Williams of the New Jersey Nets. Like the previous installments, the Nets font on the front of their jerseys is used within the design of the image. Be sure to check back onto http://joedichiara.wordpress.com to view the next set of artwork in this series, and to log onto http://www.joedichiara.com to view additional work.

Enjoy!

Again, here is a video of Williams highlights to accompany the illustration.

Hey back again this week to http://joedichiara.wordpress.com to post the second installment of the “GO NBA” series. Last week I posted the finished artwork for my Carmelo Anthony illustration which lead me to expand the concept towards other teams in the league. This week I am posting the finish for Derrick Rose of the Chicago Bulls. Similar to the first design I used the teams font that’s on their jersey to add a graphic element that fans would recognize. Be sure to check back for the next illustration in the series and also be sure to check out http://www.joedichiara.com for a more extensive view of my work.

Enjoy!

Here’s a video of Rose’s highlights for your viewing pleasure.

Hey everyone back again to http://joedichiara.wordpress.com with new artwork. This week I am posting an illustration/design I did for new New York Knick Carmelo Anthony. Here is the video MSG played in anticipation of his debut with the Knickerbockers.

Hey everyone, I’m back again! Sorry for the long gap between posts, but It has been a busy time in the midst of the holidays, class, and work.

This week I am posting to http://joedichiara.wordpress.com a new music illustration of Lil’ Wayne. Last month he was released from prison so I decided to take new techniques and styles I have been toying with and apply it towards a new piece. This artwork is done entirely using Adobe Illustrator CS4. (One of my first to use it in its entirety) In the coming weeks I plan to post more illustrations in this style.

So here is this weeks artwork which I will post the final composition next week after I tweak it up a little.

Enjoy!

Here is a video off of Weezy’s album “I Am Not A Human Being” which was released while he was still in prison.

Hey everyone today I am uploading to http://joedichiara.wordpress.com the finished artwork for the last piece in my hip-hop “beef” illustration series. This set of artwork was a real pleasure to take on and allowed me to portray many of my favorite musicians in an artistic fashion. Each individual character and composition not only challenged my style, but also allowed me to expand my use of digital medium. I hope everybody has enjoyed the journey of these illustrations over the past few months. Here is the final artwork for “Hip-Hop “Beef” Part 3 (2Pac vs. The Notorious B.I.G.)

Enjoy!

Today in the spirit of finale of the “Beef” series I am posting a video of Biggie and 2Pac performing together prior to their beef.  They started as friends and died as enemies.

Hey everyone, I return to http://joedichiara.wordpress.com with the first completed character art for the last installment of my “Hip-Hop Beef” illustration series. As I posted last week, the final artwork will be for arguably the most famous and popular beef or “The Notorious B.I.G. vs. 2Pac” a.k.a. the “East-Coast vs. West-Coast” rivalry.

Today, I am posting the finished individual art for one of my all time favorite hip-hop musicians Tupac Shakur. Be sure to check back to http://joedichiara.wordpress.com and make sure to log onto http://www.joedichiara.com for the finished Notorious B.I.G. artwork and much more.

Enjoy!

This week I have included a video that gives a more in depth encounter of this infamous “beef”

N.B.A. ILLUSTRATION!

August 26, 2010

Hey everyone, back again with another finished piece.  This week I turned to a sports themed illustration for http://www.joedichiara.wordpress.com.  With the U.S. National team playing qualifying games for the FIBA World Championship (A horrible roster to represent our country if you ask me) I decided to do art geared towards the start of the 2010-11 season.  The most notable storylines coming this season are that of LeBron James and his newly assembled “South Beach Superteam” and the Los Angeles Lakers quest for a third installment of a 3-Peat.  With these two topics I created this piece of art.  Be sure to check back this week for more updates and art.  Also check out my website www.joedichiara.com

Enjoy!

In light of LeBron James’ shameful and ego-ridden 1-Hour television special “The Decision”

I decided to post this HILARIOUS spoof video Steve Carell did for this years ESPY Awards.

Friday Illustration!

August 20, 2010

Hey everyone today is Friday and ironically I am posting a new “Friday” illustration to http://joedichiara.wordpress.com. This piece is the final of a series of three that I did regarding rapper/actor Ice Cube. The prior illustrations were inspired by songs from his 1992 album “The Predator, while today’s is by his 1995 film “Friday”. This is a classic comedy if you haven’t already seen it (the two sequels can be ignored since Chris Tucker is not in them.

Here is a video I came across with a “best of” compilation of Tucker’s character “Smokey” from the movie, it’s pretty funny stuff.

Be sure to check back next week for more artwork and updates.

Enjoy!

FINISHED WU-TANG CLAN ART!

August 14, 2010

Just finished the Wu-Tang Clan composition and posting it to joedichiara.wordpress.com. It took awhile to tweak and finish up, but I am happy with the final product. This piece is by far one of the most complex compositions I have done in regard to the number of people. Well I hope you enjoy! Make sure to check back for updates to the N.W.A. artwork! Log onto http://www.joedichiara.com for more finished work!

I watched this documentary while working on this piece, It’s about the Rock The Bells concert and a concert promoter attempting to put together a Wu-Tang Clan concert with all 9 original members (10 if you include Cappadonna) for the first time in 10 years.  The entire Wu-Tang Clan in their entirety is a very rare event.  This is a very interesting documentary, Check it Out!

Here’s the trailer.
