Joe DiChiara is an Illustrator and Designer based in the New York City. He is an Illustration graduate of Syracuse University’s Visual and Performing Arts program with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree.
Growing up in northern New Jersey, Joe’s interest and influence involving art can be traced back to his childhood, where he discovered a true talent and desire to be a professional artist. Prior to college he gained numerous accolades as a top art student at Saint Joseph Regional High School in Montvale, New Jersey, and was a scholarship recipient from the Ridgewood Art Institute.
Joe has studied under many prominent professionals in both the fields of illustration and painting; most notably: John Thompson, Bob Dacey, Yvonne Buchanan, Roger De Muth, James Ransome, Jim Burke, Steve Cerio, Dave De Vries, and Kevin Larmon.
Joe cites influences from a wide variety of past and modern artists. These include illustrators Steve Brodner and Adam Port, renowned painters Salvador Dali, Ernst Ludwig Kirchner, and Vincent van Gogh, pop artists Roy Liechtenstein and Andy Warhol, and graphic novelist/cartoonists Frank Miller, Lee Bermejo and Aaron Mc Gruder, who have all been vital in Joe DiChiara’s development as an artist.
